Mornflake Moments
We were so excited to receive these goodies from Mornflake, a fabulous company based local to us in Cheshire. We always love working with local businesses!
We also love their values of sustainability and care for the environment. Their core values include creating their Organic Oats the truly organic way, avoiding using genetically modified crops. They pride themselves on sending only 0.01% of their waste to landfill and all of the rest is recycled. They’re even aiming to get this down to 0.0%. They also make sure all of their packaging is kept to a minimum and recycled wherever possible Nice!
We always love when companies are accommodating for the gluten free folk and Mornflake haven’t disappointed in this area. They have a great selection of gluten free oats, which are checked meticulously to ensure they are perfect for those of us who don’t need that gluten in our lives.
Something else we love about Mornflake is their community spirit and how eager they are to hear from us regarding feedback, recipes and product ideas. You only have to look at their website and you’ll see how keen they are to hear our customer feedback. Keep engaging with them and who knows how far you can influence their next product launch!
We have been working our way through their range from jumbo oats, protein oats and ground oats all the way over to crunchy granola and fruity muesli.
We are going to post reviews on their products here, and also check out the recipes we will be putting up over the next few weeks on the blog and our instagram
You can buy their products on their website here and also at most large supermarkets.
Jumbo Oats
So, we’ll start by telling you about their yummy Jumbo Oats. This is the product that first got us hooked onto Mornflakes!
These oats are great hot, mixed with water or milk and popped into the microwave for a minute. Also lovely cold mixed in with some greek yogurt for a great breakfast or snack! At approximately 50% carbohydrates per serving, these oats are a great source of slow release energy and will boost you for the morning, throughout the day or as a pre workout snack.

Fine Oatmeal
We have recently posted our Mornflake Muffins, made with their Fine Oatmeal. This was a great discovery for us, as if we previously wanted an alternative for flour, we would start grinding up our own oats. This has just skipped a step for us – thank you Mornflake! These oats were so easy to bake with and at only 79p for 500g, what more can you need?!

Mornflake Gold Oatbran Crisp
We’ve been tucking in to the raisin and almond variety. It’s only negative is how moreish it is! We’d recommend that you don’t have granola as a bowl of cereal, as the portion size is unlikely to ever fill you up and you will probably end up having twice or three times the recommended size. Instead, we recommend having this crunchy goodness on top of yogurt or even on top of a salad. You’d be surprised how the yummy sweet crunch compliments a savoury summer salad!
This crisp granola is really great. The macros below are also significantly better than some of their counter parts. Compare this to Jordans Country Crisp, for example, and 100g of Mornflake’s crisp will give you less calories, less sugar, less carbs and less fats. Bonus, hey?!
